The quilting design process...

After playing around with quilting designs,
this is what I've come up with.

Now onto basting (not my favorite phase)
 using the Sharon Schamber's method.

Tomorrow ... may the quilting begin!

Red Applique Quilt - Left Border on!

I brought my Red Applique quilt out of the UFO pile
to start working on the vine and flower applique boarders during my last retreat ....
Well I finished the left border and stitched it in place over the weekend ...
LOVE it!!!
Very Happy with how it's turning out.
Can't wait for my next retreat (this weekend!!)
to finish the right boarder!

Blue bird of Sunshine - Applique style!

I love Bluebirds! They make me smile!
Not sure why ... maybe it's because they are ... blue!
And with winter coming to New England I definately need
my little Bluebird of Sunshine

My brother-in-law takes Fabulous photo's
and this photo of his
was the inspiration for my applique Bluebird below.
Last spring I took an applique class from Marie Lage
(she is fabulous) and I have finally (almost) finish my little Bluebird
(except for his feet!)

Not sure what I'm going to do with him now, or how I'm going to quilt him ...
Maybe just leave him as a mini quilt for my sewing room.
That way I'll have happiness and sunshine all year round,
even during a freezing snowy New England winter!!
